Ahmadiyya Muslim Community — Seattle
We are the Seattle-area chapter of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, a revival movement within Islam founded in 1889 by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad to re-center faith on peace, justice, and service to humanity. Today our global community is guided by the Fifth Caliph, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad, who provides spiritual leadership through sermons, initiatives, and counsel spanning more than 200 nations.
Who we are?
AMC Seattle is not just a community; it’s an experience of spiritual growth, a haven for those seeking solace in faith, and an emblem of peace in an ever-chaotic world. We are the believers and practitioners of a powerful motto – “Love For All, Hatred for None!”
In AMC Seattle, each voice matters and every story is cherished. We learn from each other, support each other, and stand together in our pursuit of spiritual wisdom. We’re a diverse congregation rooted at Bait-ul-Ehsan Mosque (Monroe, WA), serving neighbors across Seattle and the Puget Sound. You’ll find a welcoming place to learn about Islam, observe prayer respectfully, and build friendships through dialogue and community service.

What we believe (in brief)?
- One God, one humanity. We honor all prophets and the sanctity of life.
- The Promised Messiah & Mahdi. We believe Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad was commissioned to revive Islam’s original, peaceful teachings.
- Khilafat (Caliphate). Our worldwide spiritual leadership—currently His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad—unites members in faith, service, and moral reform.
- Peaceful reform. We reject violence and advance a “jihad of the pen”: personal reformation, education, and compassionate outreach.
About our Founder
Did you know that the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community believes in the metaphorical second coming of Jesus Christ and the Mahdi? Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the founder, is considered the embodiment of these prophecies. His teachings emphasized peace, love, justice, and sanctity of life – the bedrock principles of Islam.
On February 13th, 1835, in the small Indian village of Qadian, a man named Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) was born. He belonged to a well-known and noble family.
All religions contain prophecies that foretell the advent of a special individual, who will come as a reformer in the latter days. In Islam, Muslims await a promised Mahdi and Messiah. The advent of the Promised Messiah(as) was prophesized by the Holy Prophet(sa) himself.
Leading the Fight Against Terrorism
Over a century ago, Mirza Ghulam Ahmad declared that ‘jihad by the sword’ has no place in Islam. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the leading Islamic organization to unequivocally reject terrorism, advocating for a bloodless, intellectual ‘jihad of the pen.’

Our story in America
- 1920 — Formal start of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the United States with the arrival of its first missionary.
- 1921–1922 — Early national organization and one of the country’s earliest purpose-built mosques established in Chicago.
From those beginnings, the community grew nationwide through mosques, publications, interfaith dialogue, and service—contributions that continue to shape Muslim-American life today.
