Monroe, WA & Greater Seattle

Community Life

Sports, hiking, education, spiritual development, and interfaith connection — community life at Bait-ul-Ehsan is rich, welcoming, and open to all.

A Community That Shows Up

From Friday prayers to mountain trails — the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Seattle runs regular programs that serve members, neighbors, and the wider Puget Sound region.

Sports & Athletics

Weekly

The Khuddam-ul-Ahmadiyya (youth auxiliary for men 15–39) organizes regular sports programs including basketball, cricket, volleyball, and soccer. Open to members and the wider community — a tradition of healthy competition rooted in the motto 'Serve God, Serve Country.'

Hiking & Outdoor Programs

Monthly

The Pacific Northwest is our backyard. Community members organize regular group hikes in the Cascades and surrounding trails — from beginner-friendly walks to challenging day hikes. These outings build brotherhood, strengthen health, and reflect the Islamic tradition of appreciating God's creation.

Educational Programs

Ongoing

Weekly Quran study circles, Islamic history classes, and public educational events. The mosque hosts school field trips, interfaith dialogue sessions, and public lectures that have welcomed thousands of non-Muslim visitors from across the Puget Sound region. Our annual Quranic Exhibition is the largest on the West Coast.

Spiritual Training (Tarbiyyat)

Regular

Regular spiritual training sessions for all age groups — from Nasirat and Atfal (children's programs) through Lajna (women) and Ansarullah (senior men). Annual ijtemas (regional gatherings) bring together hundreds of Ahmadi Muslims from across Washington State for days of prayer, lectures, and community bonding.

Interfaith & Community Service

Year-Round

Blood drives in partnership with Puget Sound Blood Center, food bank support, neighborhood clean-up days, and annual open houses that welcome the entire Monroe community. The Humanity First chapter coordinates disaster relief donations and volunteer programs connecting local members with global humanitarian needs.

Family & Social Events

Seasonal

Eid celebrations open to the entire community, Ramadan iftars (community breaking of the fast), family picnics, and intercommunity social events. The mosque functions as a genuine third place — a home for community belonging beyond work and family.
